Hey fellas,
I'm new to the 6.5 Grendel, but I have heard of its capabilities as a long range round, hog round, and with the right bullet, a deer round. I picked up a 6.5 Ruger American Ranch a few weeks ago not realizing how hard it is to find the cartridge in stock for a reasonable price. Therefore, I am also new to reloading as well. I have tracked down the necessary components, so I will be reaching out to you guys for advice in the near future. Thank you guys in advance.

Welcome to the Horde! I was in your position 12 years ago; new to both the Grendel and to reloading. Besides joining this forum, the best decision I made was to purchase a copy of the 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbook, Volume 2. Buy it, read it, follow the instructions on reloading. Ask your questions here. The Horde is happy to help.

Welcome to the horde from Wisconsin , yes you will find much info on reloading here and the advice to get volume 2 is a really good start .

Welcome to the clan, RAR, from the great nation of Texas! Ditto on Vol 2 ( and Vol 1) of the Grendel handbook(s). THe cost of ammo is coming back down as availability gets better. Watch all the net shops and you can find some pretty decent deals.

Thanks John. I was able to track down most of it on AmmoSeek.com. I just wish the Hazmat fee for powder was cheaper but my cost per round is still less than buying factory.

I have one of the Lee handheld loaders. I think it should be good enough until I get enough space when I move out of this apartment.
