Cheapest decent Grendel bullet

What presently available bullet do you guys recommend. 100 gr to 123 gr would be my preferred weight range. I have some 100 gr Nosler BTs on hand, but would like to pick up some other bullets. I have Lapua cases on order.

Mid south Shooter’s Supply has Hornady 123 gr. hpbt bullets for $32/100. It’s a match bullet, not recommended for hunting.

You just have to keep an eye on your favorite websites and grab some when a deal pops up.

I bought some 123 fmj blemished bullets for $0.26 each. Also some blemshed 107 grain tipped bullets, speculation was these were Speer brand, at a discount.

I know people used to love the 120gr rem core-loct if you can find them.

Cheapest decent Grendel bullet is the 90TNT. Which appears to have carried a disproportional load of DNS' 250,000lb of hog kills, at distance out to 300+ yards.

It's very accurate, and also very forgiving to reloaders. And it is highly effective on >200lb hog - meaningb hat probably will be good on deer as well.

Only real detriment is it's not a long range bullet. If interests go past 300 yards, other will outshine it.

I should have mentioned what the bullet would be for. I’d want to use it for paper punching, plinking (grandkid involvement) and pig hunting. For deer season I’ll likely use my 260 bolt gun and 120 gr Nosler BTs. I’ve agreed to buy some Hornady 123 SST ammo, so that will be used up first. Then I can reload, using some 100 gr Nosler BTs. So, it isn’t like I need to stock up on supplemental bullets right now, but I do need to decide on what bullets I’m going to use after that. And, of course, cheap is desired. Ideally, I’d just stay with the 100 gr Nosler BTs, but who knows when Nosler will offer them for sale.

If DNS is using that 90 gr TNT bullet, maybe that’s the one I need. I’ve watched plenty of his videos, and if that’s the bullet in use, it seems to be doing the job. And, it’ll give me about all the velocity available with the Grendel. Still, I have had plenty experience on pigs and deer with the 100 gr Nosler BT, and it has seemed to do the job as well as the 120 gr BT does, so that would be my first choice, though they aren’t as cheap as they once were.

These right here. Hornady 123 gr. hpbt bullets at Midsouth. All my grendels love them. I originally bought some because my 12.5" Grendel doesn't like the Nosler 123 HPBT. These shot great in the 12.5" and as well or better out of my RARR Grendel with the same exact load.

You can almost always get these Prvi 120 grains from Graf's. I'd consider them close to the Hornady 123 BTHP. This is the bullet that was used in the old Wolf Gold ammo.

The Speer 90 grain TNT can be found for $.22-.25 each. I’ve bought a lot of factory over runs and blems from shooters pro shop and Sierra’s outlet store. The over runs are usually the best deal but the blemished bullets are good for short range.

I’d buy some of those 90 gr Speers if I could find some. Any suggestions?

A few of my sources are currently out of stock. It is very common for 6.5 bullets to sell out before the next production run makes it to the vendors. If you see something you want you have to act fast since demand seems to be more than the supply. All loading components don’t stay in stock long these days.
