Interesting read. My wifes folks are from the Redwater area. Expansion industries bought part of the old lone star ammunition plant by the old Red river army depot. It will be interesting how fast they will be able to get up and running with material shortages and what the mighty combined strength of federal/cci/Speer monopoly will do in response. Apologies if this was already shared somewhere else.

P.S. the local reloading shop tried to sell me 500 CCI NO 41 for $75.00 today. Thank god I had a stash before this craziness started.

I have not seen anybody that would sell more than 200 at a time for ant price.

There were signs at Camp Perry this month of people selling primers at $90/1000.
Once this Plant gets going, 5 cents may get closer.

You and me both. Buddy of mine is an FFL with a manufacturing license for ammo. While I was in the shop a few weeks ago I mentioned I was looking for 1000 CCI small rifle primers to finish off the bullets I have left to load. His wife went into the back, came out with a 1000 primer brick of them and said $65 bucks. SOLD

Wow that is a steal! Cheapest I can get CCI 450 and 400 is $110 per 1000.

My memory is fuzzy, but I thought there was an outfit planning to make primers somewhere here in central Texas.
