Yeah I’m familiar with the B&C stocks. To my knowledge they’re made from fiberglass. I asked about your Kevlar stock!

They were referred to in CZ marketing material as Kevlar at some point. I have kept using the moniker to avoid any confusion. You are probably right in that they are simply fiberglass.

Cz 527 are legacy type rifles that break in for life, get sweeter the longer you own and shoot them. Early they benefit from polishing the action with jb bore paste, cycle it a few hundred times. Set the trigger up with a little loctite on the one adjustment screw but you can get it nearly 98% creep free and 2 3/4 lb pull with a bit of fussing but my last one needed that but iloctite on that screw so it doesn’t back out as you start shooting...which is what I learned. You’ll know as the creep comes back as you shoot it. Then polish the feed lips of the magazine and keep magazine stored full of rounds to get some set in that stiff spring and they really do become gems. They have slightly odd ring location to grip and trigger and benefit from scopes that have short eye box and distance to turret. And warne medium rings are the lowest you can get for best cheek weld to stock. It’s a bit to learn to do a cz right but when you do they are amazing legacy rifles. Oh and yes the pillar glass bedding also, my smith will also crown them. They are a labour of love. The least gunsmith and set up required Grendels are the ruger ranch...no smith necessary. The howas shoot good but everything except the action and barrel is total garbage so they are a bunch of new parts and money to get right. I’ve gone down the rabbit holes...I shoot ruger ranches now. But that CZ 527 American I built with proof research carbon barrel I built was chuckin hornady black at half moa or less easy at 500 yards and launched at 2605 fps was some sweet, I’m sure it’s new owner is loving it. Just too nice for me in the end as i need more throw around neglect type rigs as I’m just not that easy on gear so migrated to the working mans solution with the rugers, very happy there. Average 3/4 moa at 500 with hornady black and build the whole thing in my kitchen, no smith. Beat it in the field and zero guilt.

I pulled apart my new American in 7,62x39 today to install a Timney trigger. It has the steel bedding block as does my new (2020) Varmint, but in addition, the rifle came pillar bedded from the factory. Gone is the steel compression check tube from the tang. Instead there is a heavy (fiberglass?) rod acting as a pillar, fore and aft. The action and trigger guard sit flat with no flex. CZ has taken the headache out of owning a 527. This X39 was sub MOA from the box so what they are doing works. Now, if they would only get rid of that set trigger.... ~Riuma

Stinky Coyote - I had the same owner's guilt with my wood stocks. There are range guns and fancy hunt guns, and then there are my field guns. I had a similar issue with my CZ's. Once I moved to the Kevler (fiberglass) stocks and Cerakoted everything I no longer had a worry. Don't get me wrong... I still treat them better than I do an AR15.

Ho, I'm looking for an info I have a CZ Varmint MTR in 6.5 Grendel, but I do not like the stock, not Good for hunting. Here in Italy the other models are not available, so I decided to change the stock. I like a lot MTD chassis, the info that I am looking which now much wide Is the .223 magazine? I am evaluating if It Is possible to modify the chassis to accept the 6.5Gren magazine. Can someone of you give me the info, please? In alternative I can buy a CZ spare stock, I have been informed that my action should be fit in without any work. Thank you.

Hi, I'm looking for an info, I see the the stocks dedicated to the CZ 527 do not have any caliber info request, as any of the calibers used in CZ 527 can fit in without any adjustment in the stock. I have a CZ 527 varmint MTR, but I do not like the stock, not usefull for hunting and the MTR is the only one sold in Italy. I would like to choose a MTD chassis, but first they sells It for .223 and they use the CZ magazine.
Can anyone tell how much Is wide the .223 magazine? Eventually I'll buy a laminated varmint stock from CZ.

As luck would have it, CZ discontinued the 527 Americans, and I didn't even know it. Discovered that fact on here and did some digging and sure enough, it was true. Looked everywhere for one and they just weren't to be found. On the spur of the moment I decided to go to the last local gun show. Guess what was laying on about the fourth table inside the arena? Yep, you guessed it, a new, in the box, 527 American in 6.5 Grendel. Yes, it came home with me and I couldn't be happier. It groups PPU 120 grain BTHP and Barnes 115 grain TAC-TX both within MOA at 100 yards without any scope adjustment.
