Bad time to start a build?

Looking to build my 2nd AR, liked the idea of Grendel because its different, bigger caliber than the normal 223/556 (which was my first), etc.

But it looks like parts are even harder to come by for Grendel stuff. Am I crazy to start now? Or should I just go with another 223/556?

My goals are mostly longer range than the home defense styled AR I just built. We dont have very long ranges near here (100 yards max without getting into private clubs), but eventually I might take it hunting. Was thinking a 16" or maybe 18" barrel to make the feds happy and my arms somewhat relaxed.

Opinions? I see lots of people recommending Monster barrels but it looks like they are OOS for the rest of the year potentially. Any other recommendations?

It is always a good time to start a new Grendel build. I am selling all of my extra stuff at good prices and will finish another build when I get enough ratholed away to complete it. You must have patience right now, though. My next build will possibly be a 6 month or longer build because of the current situation.

the only diff parts of a grendel are bolt, barrel and mags
everything else is the same as a 223 ar

Personally I prefer 18" with a rifle length gas system. Used to be some deals for Odin Works BC, barrel and tuneable Gasblock that were decent. Might check their website.
