Changing bolt

Well I finally broke down and ordered some parts to change my 300 blkout into a 6.5 grendel and I cant find a bcg anywhere so I saw where a bunch of yall buy just the bolt and switch them. I have a NiB bcg in my blkout so how hard is it to switch them? Im looking at the bolt on sixfivearms.

Should be a strait swap. One thing you may do is check the extractor, it may need a bit of polish/shaping. See threads on the forum or Johnny's reloading bench for more info on this. Running dummy rounds through your rig will help identify problems like that.
The bolt should be a match for the Grendel barrel, most modern standard production barrels will work but some of the early barrels need a different bolt for things to work correctly. It's a bit confusing but SAMMI .136 or type 2 bolt with type 2 barrel is pretty standard now.

Ok thanks I guess I was overthinking the swap out but just got home and watched a video on how to do it so Im gonna order it! Now all I need is a handguard.

If after polishing your extractor, my first monster bolt was fine, if you still have any cycling issues, you may need to remove the extractor spring donut as well.

Graf & Sons has Lapua 6.5Grendel brass & Starline basic brass with no neck that needs to be sized & then annealed.

Hope you have small rifle primers already 'cause they scarcer the hens teeth. Graf has lots of powders in stock but after a quick look, they might be in short supply for Grendel appropriate powders.
