I used one brush for the initial wet brush with cleaner, and the other brush with patches and alcohol to clean out any solvent afterwards so I don't have a wet chamber.
A wet chamber is bad ju-ju as it will increase bolt thrust and pressure substantially.
Liquids don't like to be compressed, so they win the war against the brass, and you end up with floating brass with super-efficient coefficient of friction and no or limited obturation onto the chamber wall.
This is something we really need to take into consideration, especially for those that like to clean a lot, or shoot suppressed.

Question then, is a dry patch alone enough to remove what needs to be, while leaving some thin residual or protective oil? Never heard of alcohol as the last step. I would think that would leave one open to corrosion?

This is a nitrided barrel.
I don't like the idea of any oil in the chamber for a shooting gun.
For storage, there's an argument for keeping a Chromoly steel barrel and maybe even stainless cared for with a very light final pass with a barely-oiled patch in the bore, but I would want it dry-patched before shooting.
These are just my thoughts on it. I'm not a chemist or metallurgist, but I do know that oil in the chamber is bad ju-ju when you push the PSI that we're pushing from within a brass, high pressure gasket that goes from ambient temp to explosively-hot temps inside that gasket, with brass being very conductive.

I polished my Faxon group buy barrel chamber with JBs and patches wrapped around one of my brushes.
I didn't go crazy, just a few spins on the drill, going back and forth in and out of the chamber.
Everybody is getting their brushes within 3 days I take it?

I WISH I had these in hand when I did mine. I'm tempted to take it down - again - just to do so. I can't imagine I got as good a job done then as I would now. Alas, I think I'll pass. As well as it is shooting, and as I don't want to polish off the coating, it'll have to do. These would have made the job much easier though. Oh well, next GB!

It may not have issues, and I'll still do this again. To any barrel I build from now on. The thing feeds like it's a paintball gun. There just isn't any kind of grit, or stick to the chamber. None at all. And the extension looks so nice compared to my other ar's it's not nice to mention their brands...

Mine arrived in quick order. Immediately cleaned a couple of chambers. Great product! It beats the heck out of trying to use a .223 brush. Thanks for doing this.
