I'm curious to see what all the (positive) fuss is about with these Larue triggers. I have a Geissele SSA-E on one lower. In fact it's the lower I intend to use mostly with my 6.5. It's a nice crisp trigger. Too light of a pull though for general use in my option. For example It's not the kind of gun I'd had off to a friend without first schooling them on the lightness of the trigger. This is assuming they mostly use standard AR triggers.
I was mainly thinking of biodsl's comment, which sounded a little concerned about the lighter than advertised pull weight. I was hinting that it might not have to be that light if you don't want it too.
One advantage of the LaRue MBT 2S is the package include two hammer springs, light and heavy. I can see the advantage of the heavier hammer spring if the rifle is going to used for defense or novice shooters. Unintentional discharge are to be avoided and in certain situations the heavier trigger might be warranted.

Geissele makes very nice triggers I have a couple of them along with a JP, CMC, and Timney......
But, they are all twice the price or more.
There is not a $94 (shipped) trigger that equates to the MBT 2S that I have came across....yet.

Not that it probably matters too much, but it's actually a heavier trigger spring that they give you. Not the hammer spring. But anyway, that was definitely where I was going. Better to have a heavier trigger for some jobs. 3# is a bit light for the guys and gals that have jump in an out of helicopters as part of their work duties, for example.

Oh I agree. I hope anyone didn't think I was saying "Just buy a Geissele, they're awesome." I only brought it up as an example of a trigger that's nice for precision but too light for a lot other kinds of situations. IMO. So that heavier trigger spring might be useful.
And as I said somewhere above, I ordered one last week to replace a Geissele trigger I've not been thrilled with, in another lower. My order's probably still a few weeks way from shipping, but I don't mind. It just follows the old rule of "Price. Delivery. Quality. Pick any two."

Old age strikes again, your correct the MBT 2S comes with two trigger springs, not hammer springs. I mess with rimfire AR-15’s where people commonly swap hammer springs so I guess I have hammer springs on the brain. Regardless the MBT 2S is a very good product at a very good price.
Yep, I guess here is the array of parts I should be receiving at some point. And I see on their website that they also sell the heavy trigger spring separately for $6. Not bad. So if anyone's lost theirs
This trigger probably doesn't need another testimonial but I got mine today, just installed it, and agree with the other reviews.
I love it. It is as light as I want in an AR, nice and smooth, clean break and quick lock time. I like two-stage triggers and this has to be one of the best. It is as perfect as I could want.
I'll have to order some more for xmas presents for the son and nephews.
Oh, and the E-Lander mags are great too. They're thicker and sturdier than the C-Prod I own. Don't need the glossy paint though, I'll have to hit them with some matte finish.

Well, I may as well follow up on this. I received my Larue trigger a few weeks back. Installed it in that lower that had a Geissele Super Dynamic whatever. The flat trigger model. I have to say it's a very different feel from the SD. It's wider and feels angled farther back a little I think, than the standard Guisseles or GI triggers. Definitely a crisper 2nd stage brake than my SD.
Since no one else seems to be using the heavier trigger spring, I decided to do that and see how it measures. And anyway, 3# is too light for this lower's application. The Larue trigger breaks at an average (of three tests) 4 lbs-15 oz. So call it 5#. For my application I think it'll be perfect.
And there you go. With the two springs they supply, you can either have a nice, light 3# two-stage for precision work, or a nice, crisp but firmer 5# trigger for more general purpose use.
Got mine today bu I won't have time to install i til tomorrow at the earliest. Does look nice tho. But I did forget to add some 5rd mags for hunting. I guess I will have to place another order for that.
Have you guys been still getting freebies in your orders? Mine came without. Still a great deal and no complaints.
Son shot his yesterday in his Stag LH Creedmoor loves it. Replaced the stock one. No freebies on the trigger got some with the mags. Can't complain trigger was $160 now marked down paid $99 "I can wait on my first one"
