NFA Trust Lawyer

Anyone here have a NFA trust? If so, who was the lawyer who set it up and do you recommend them? I am in Texas, but I'm not sure that matters for a trust?

Forgive my ignorance and curiosity.... but what is an NFA trust lawyer??? Thanks.

I AM NOT A LAWYER OR LEGAL ADVISOR!!! (disclaimer in case you couldn't figure that one out!)

But a NFA Trust is a legal document (similar to a trust set up for your children or grand children) that creats a legal entity capable of owning all the fun class 3 stuff like suppressors, select fire and SBR rifles and shotguns. It eliminates the need to have the senior LEO in your county sign off on your forms and protects your family from violating the National Firearms Act in the event you become incapacitated or deceased. The law is very particular about these items and ... well, the best thing for me to do is to link you to a better explaination.

I just picked a website and have no affiliation with the lawyer, just attached it for the info. My main purpose is to protect my family from legal jeapordy (sp?) and to allow other family members to use my toys without me being there.

I have Chris Bass NFA Trust in process. Thanks BjornF16. Spoke with him over the phone and through email about what I was looking for and gave him the answers to a few easy questions yesterday. Should have it in hand by Friday. I'll report back when it arrives. I'm using the attorney as an insurance policy. It costs no more than filing a LLC (different option) and at least I feel good about it standing up to legal scrutiny! Damn NFA penalties have some serious teeth!

As a class 3 dealer speaking ...be advised ....each error on a trust is a felony.. They can stack up very quickly..
I strongly advise you use a lawyer with a history of doing NFA trusts and you get in writing that he will represent you free if there is ever an error discovered in a trust he has drafted for you...I would never advise the DYI or Cheap internet trust website route.. you risk Jail time fines and the most costly.. your right to ever touch a gun again !!!!
