My first Grendel...Aero Precision in FDE

Joining the Horde! Aero Precision 6.5G in FDE.

Between travel/work/kids/weather, haven't shot it yet, but should be able to get it zeroed this week and then plan to take it out for a full moon hog hunt March 1st.

The glass is a PA 4-14x44 that I got in a trade.
Not sure what will end up there the majority of the time, but probably my Photon XT scope since most of my hunting is done at night.

Seriously though, I want to know what you think about that VG6. I'm thinking my BCM needs one. Time to upgrade the A2, and I really like the look of Aero's brake.

Nice looking rig. I have the same upper and lower with the enhanced hand guard. Faxon 18" with the same brake. Luthar trigger and Magpul PRS. Waiting for gas block and tube then it can go together. Weather is turning nice so it can't be soon enough.

I really wanted a PRS, but couldn’t justify the cost in my head. Maybe some day in the future.

Well, the weather in Houston finally cooperated today, so I made a quick trip to the range during lunch. Sent a couple boxes of Wolf Mil down range to break her cherry. Rough way to break her in, I know. Really couldn't tell much of a difference in recoil from my mid-length 16" 556. Shoots real smooth.

Also shot a box of Hornady Black ELD 123gr to see how tight of a group I could shoot at 100 yards. Last group of 5 was exceptional for me...not sure of MOA (since I had to leave before the RO retrieved targets) but 3 of the 5 shots were touching.

All in all, I'm very happy with my setup and look forward to putting some Grrr into a hog later this week.

I like the Atlas (this is my second), but damn the clearance is tight.

I actually sent a ticket to aero today about clearance issues. QD sling mount won’t even work because it hits the barrel before engaging all the way. Not the end of the world, but it was definitely one of those “are you bleeping kidding me?!?” moments.

I hope it does too. Ordered one also, an AP one came with the barrel but it is set screw I am not going to mount that one. Learned a lesson if I am going to buy another one catch it on sale at BA they mount the gas block for you.

You do! In your first post you say you have a Photon XT. If you have the manual for it look on page 3 then see #7. That is the video output jack. Add a video recording device and wala! If you don't have the manual here is where you can download it from.

It does, I just got it in today and mounted. I WILL get the proper roll pin starter punch before I mount another one. It's mounted and properly and it looks good.
