How much does tactical training cost?

I have a 15 y/o daughter. She hunts with me. And I take her to the target range where she shoots AR and Bolt action Grendels out to 300 yards. Her real love is her Walther 380. This is all good but it's not tactical training. I dont think she will ever need CQB training but it sounds like fun and cant hurt. We live in Flordia. My question is how do I go about finding a fun training session for a person familer with firearms but has never been in a shoot house? And what are ball park rates?

My local range has classes like that and does have some competition. You may just want to call around to your local ranges. They usually have some kind of youth education classes.

Merry Christmas hm2 clark: I don't know if it matters to you but I thought it may help if you can find a camp with women teaching women at least for the first go around with your daughter. Then she can go to full blown tactical training at places like Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, etc. Just my thoughts.

Kay Miculek( yeah that Miculek. You have heard of Jerry I assume.), Jerry's wife has a training school called Babes with Bullets. They do training for all levels.
It sounds to me like shooting training not necessarily tactical training but they may do both. At least it may help get the basics taught before moving on to more extensive tactical training.

In March, they have a class for $675.00. It's on March 16-18 and it's even in Sarasota,FL. They describe it as a Beginners and Intermediate class so it should cover her.

You want her to enter and clear rooms with a team? Somehow I don't think anyone who actually owns a OSHA approved kill house on a range will allow someone under 18 to go through that training due to risk.

You may want to look at places that run basic carbine and or pistol courses as they tend towards the military type of Short Range Marksmanship training. Although these types of courses are mostly fired from stationary positions, I doubt anyone will take someone under 18 or maybe 21.

Take a look on the internet to see if there is any legitimate outfit that will take someone who is her age. If you find one, they will probably charge from $200 - $400 per day and you supply the ammo -- somewhere around 700 rounds a day. These things are pretty much endurance contests to see how fast someone can burn out barrels at five yards. They claim it develops 'muscle memory'. He, he, he.

Another possibility is that a local range may offer some sort of 'Juniors' program in 3 Gun or IPSC. Both sports are pretty good but I am not sure that anyone has such a program for 'Juniors'. It would be an ideal for her based on what you have described.

Maybe you ought to come up with a plan and train her yourself?
