Hornady American Gunner 6.5 Grendel

The hornady website shows varmit and target for the .223 and 6.5 Creedmore AG ammo and does not list the 6.5 Grendel ammo yet at all. I got some 6.5 creedmore and 6.5 Gendel AG ammo the bullets remind me of Sierra Match Kings

It is marketed as bulk shooting ammo. Neither Match or Hunting.

User reports it as sub MOA ammo from a large variety of rifles/barrel makers - so good for target, though the BC is a little low for Match ammo. It is what my Girlfriend and her two daughters will be using in some matches since they are getting .7 and under with it.

Hunting I am sure it will work for small game. I don't know that anyone has used it for anything yet.

I doubt that Hornady will ever publish expansion numbers for this round. It appears aggressive enough as a HP that it might expand well, but I'd still like to see a recovered round before I would make that call.

I just picked up 1k of this via online ordering for $737. I have been shooting factory SSTs. Anyone compare the two for ballistics and expansion yet? Paper and Virginia white tail deer are primary targets. Thanks!

I wonder if they would not ship that much at one time?
The website just let me order 2 cases; will see if I get a tracking number this week.

I didn't realize till I opened my cardboard boxes today and heard the jingle that this stuff was loose packed in the plastic tubs......
Reason it is cheap, no $$$$ for plastic or boxes.

Each plastic tub, which are better than the cheap Cabelas boxes will hold 400 rounds nicely so I combined mine today and now I have 2 extra ammo containers for reloads.

Just got an advertisement today bulk American gunner ammo at Midway USA but only in 300 blk and .223. Also have BULK can of hornady black in .223. Hopefully they will carry 6.5 eventually.

I shot some of this at the range yesterday. This is from a 16" BA Hanson barrel. 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Best group was 1.08"
