New here, scope question

I just picked up a new Vortex Crossfire 6-24 x 50 for about 180 bucks. I'm putting it on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical (.308). I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. But I really like the clicks on the dials and the glass is really clear.

I wouldn't mount that thing just yet.... SWFA has it on sale for $99.99

That's the 1 inch version. I heard they had problems with the 1 inch version ..... I haven't seen anything about those issues with the 30mm version. The one I have is the 30mm. They go for 170-210.
