I realize question 2 has been 'sort of' addressed already in my previous thread. I guess I'm just looking for more detail maybe? Is AA the only place to get strong bolts? Necessary to true the upper? Have the barrel extensions been redesigned/strengthened? If so, who sells those barrels?

The only issue in the past regarding component availability has been brass, and with Hornady's entrance into the market, that seems to have completely disappeared.
As for bolts/extensions. I have never heard of a barrel exentension failure. There have been bolt failures, just as there have been 5.56 bolt failures. Early on in the life of the Grendel they were more common, but Alexander has repeatedly updated and upgraded the steel, as well as the design, and failures are rare now. The designs are backwards compatible and there are no true Grendel designs that are not.
As for others with proprietary or special designs, I have heard of them, but never seen any open testing that showed they were superior.

Hmmmm......Never noticed that. I dry fire all the time in practice. I think that may be left over from another manual, but I'll check.
