I guess this uses the 0.125" boltface depth. Columbia only mentions 0.125" for the 264 LBC.

This is the second time I have heard of a crappy Aero precision mount. They are Do Not Purchase as far as I am concerned.

I will probably be going GG&G for my build.

That scope weighs 35 ounces? No, I don't think the Aero mount would hold it. I'd want wider rings and maybe more than two. A lightweight scope in that lightweight mount on the other hand, seems to work well.

An Aero Ultralight has held a 37 ounce Bushnell Elite XRS on my 22" Grendel with zero issues.

I think it's a recoil thing on the large frame platform, but wouldn't rule out a combination of how the Aero's mount to the rail and maybe even a little bit of slop in the rail of the Aero upper. The Geissele mount fits in there firm! My new motto is no Aero products in large frame.

I bought this one. Take off the extra junk you don't need and you have about the lightest, strongest handguard you will find.
If you are hunting in cold weather, these will not freeze your hands like aluminum will.

Just the reverse...from their web site:

"We originally made rifles with the standard head spacing (.125” which we called type 1 and a second head spacing (.135” only for the original Grendel which we called type II. Given the demand for standardization and lack of sales the type II head spacing has been dropped for 2017."

No noticeable deflection.
Carbon fiber is what Boeing builds 777s from.
It is 10 to 25X stronger than steel.
Handguards are child's play. Did I mention they don't feel cold in winter hunting?
Although, maybe in Phoenix you need a cold one.
