The wait begins

I shipped my Zastava action off to PacNor for Grendel Match? barrel and Cerakote. I decided on a 21" #4 barrel with 3 groove rifling and Cerakote H245 Socom Blue coating. It's going in a Remington 799 laminate stock. I should have in back by early September which should be plenty of time to get it dialed in for hunting season.

I've been trying to contact adamjp to question his modification to his M85. He said to modify the follower by moving point A 2mm left back to B or C?



As you can see I'm no draftsman, just looking for a little assist!

So that's my poor rendition of the magazine follower on a Zastava M85 Mini Mauser. adamjp says to aid in feeding the Grendel rounds to move point A 2mm left and then file back to either point B or C. I think it's changing the line from A to B but before i start filing I want to know for sure.

Is the Grendel Match chamber a 264lbc?

I got a chamber print today. Look like a SAAMI Grendel with a .295" neck like the CSS chamber.

The action returned today. I'm very happy with the looks and Cerakote so far. PacNor was right on the money with their turnaround ETA, 13 weeks door to door with a couple of weeks to the Cerakoter. The Socom Blue Cerakote came out like a nice matte blue and looks fantastic in the laminated Rem 799 stock. I had surgery for a torn rotator cuff, torn biceps, and torn ligament in my right should in May and I feel about 50% recovered. I need to bed the action to the Rem stock and order my Vortex scope. Hunting season opens 1st weekend in October so I'm in good shape there. I'll post some picture as soon as I get the scope mounted.

The chamber is more like the LBC than the SAAMI. The telltale is the parallel freebore.

Will, sorry for the delay. I have caught an end-of-winter cold which has knocked be around a fair bit.

It is Point A that moves to the LEFT by 2mm and fair it back to Point C keeping the slope the same.

The whole idea is to cater for the increased shoulder Dia. of the Grendel case compared to the original 7.62x39 case.
