New to this forum, but have been building and sellng Grendels and Beowulfs as a hobby for a few years now, Aircraft Engineer by trade. Here are a couple pics of the few latest grendels I wrapped up the last few weeks... We have a local Gun Show coming up in October so I am stocking inventory...

Those look great, especially the OD Green stick. Welcome. What coating are you using for the OD green?
Welcome and if you don't mind me asking, where are you located and which show will you be at in case I can make it?

I am in Wichita, Kansas... October 8/9 is a local gun show, Kansas Coliseum. I usually have 6 or 7 grendels and 4 or 5 Beowulfs at all different price points... just a part time hobby, but seems to keep me busy; My father is retired and does custom load ammo for these calibers to keep himself busy... All sorts of custom Grendel loads... we even make 550 grn beowulf.
As for coating, I use Duracoat...I have done about 11 or 12 guns and seems to work well.
I am not much a forum person, atleast not until recently, but seems to be a good group of people out here...

Have you used Cerakote at all? If so, can you compare the two?

If you're doing bake-on with Duracoat, you might as well switch over to Cerakote. I've played with a bunch of different guns with both types of finishes, and the Cerakote is in a totally different ballpark when it comes to durability, resistance to chemicals, abrasion resistance, etc. You have to grind Cerakote off with aggressive metal or stone tools. I've been able to scratch Duracoat off with my fingernail, although it is a little better than paint, especially if the coater blasts the surfaces first, and degreases with heated solution before cleaning with acetone.

...I have never used Cerakote so I can't speak on it; I dont bake the duracoat or blast, I clean very good and Duracote it... I haven't had any issues.
I have enclosed pics of a couple more rifles I have for sale I will be taking to the above Gun show. Like I said before, this is a part time hobby, but it seems to pay for itself...which is better then my other hobbies that only cost $$$
. My father is retired and makes custom ammo for people so I keep him busy making these rounds (6.5 & 50B)... we make just about anything, even make 550 grn Beowulf!
