I'm in contact with a rep at Templar Custom trying to get a quote on a barrel. I'm trying to decide between ordering an upper from Precision Firearms or building it myself. It'll come down to cost.

Anyways they asked me how many flutes I wanted and didn't have a clue what to tell them. I did a search, but it didn't turn up what I was trying to find.

My intent is to build a lightweight 16" weapon that'll hold a minimum 1" MOA.

What's the maximum number of flutes feasible?

Most seem to go with 5-8.

Depends on barrel diameter and flute width.....whatever your preference ......6 always looks good ...more or wider/ deeper if you are looking to strip weight..
