Hi I am new to the Grendel and this site. I have been watching this $898.00 BRAND NEW CUSTOM UPPER IN 6.5 GRENDEL, UPPER IS ROCK RIVER, 20 INCH
STAINLESS STEEL BARREL BY LOTHAR WALTHER, WITH DAN YOUNG FLASH HIDER.
COMES COMPLETE WITH BOLT AND CHARGING HANDLE. Sound like a good deal??

I appreciate all the help I can get. It seems that getting the barrels are the hardest part of these builds, so I thought I would just get a complete upper with a great barrel. Every place I call is on back order for barrels. This way I wont have to worry about head spacing.

Just to make sure it is 6.5 Grendel because I have read a lot of problem of custom build like not matching bolt and barrel. (headspacing problem and fail to feed). Try Alexander arms even there is a waiting period but you will have a good customer service to depend on. Good Luck for your new build.

Just bought a Satern 20" SS Match barrel 1-8.75 twist with bolt. Once that arrives the building will begin. Stay tuned for pictures.

Any suggestions for mounts, Optics?

Kevin, I just saw this thread but I bought one of the SAOD uppers you were asking about last year and have been 110% happy with it. It runs all factory ammo available for it without a hitch, plus my reloads.

I see you didn't, but good luck with what your choice was.
