What mag housing would work with a Grendel rebuild kit in it?

Hey guys,

I was out at a local haunt today and in a box they had a bunch of rebuild kits for the 6.5 Grendel from C Products. My question is what magazines would work by changing the followers for the blue Grendel followers? And yes I did buy a few of the kits to have if nothing else.

The Grendel specific mag bodies are the only ones I know of that will work, since the Grendel has shallower feed guides, and different feed lips. I have heard of some guys using the PRI 6.8 mags for the Grendel, but those are pricey. Standard 5.56 mags will only work with a few Grendel rounds in a best-case scenario maybe, so you pretty much need the different mag body if you want to use the capacity of your mag bodies.

That is what I needed to know. I will hold on to these kits then and look for some magazines.

Greg, I have both CProd 6.5 and 6.8 mags, and except for the follower color, I can't tell any difference between the two mags. The mag bodies look identical.

FYI, D&H is supposed to have new, steel 6.8 mags available later this month (thru Bravo Co., if memory serves). Those might be an option, too.
