I've seen some of the penetration demos in on-line publications. The armor defeat thickness seems to be about right when one looks at sectional density and velocity considerations.

With the right sighting system and a convenient folding stock, it could be effective out to 125-150 meters and give a few bad guys a surprise at longer ranges.

Personal prejudice -- any folding stock needs to be both effective in getting a carbine-like stable hold and not compromise the convenience of carry. That means a package somewhere between a 1911 in 45 ACP and those horrible gas mask bags some folks have to wear on their hips. The gas mask bags are way too large, a package equivalent to two nested 1911s might be the smallest one could get and still have enough stock to give a stable hold.

If memory serves, the armour penetrator would do at lest as well as the 7.62x51 M80 round at pistol distances. The tungsten pill is sabot-launched so gets an impressive muzzle velocity.
