Spotted this pair last night out in the pasture rooting. Apparently had been at it for a while from the amount of damage. Normally don't get much of a chance for follow up shots due to the proximity of the brush, but this time I circled around to where I figured they had come from, and was downwind of them. Shot the first one at about 50 yds. The second one ran off about 25 yds,,stopped, and "presented" a perfect broadside "pose". Both hit in left shoulder with exits directly across out the right side. The picture shows the exit wounds. 123gr SST at about 2480 fps,,DRT. Old man got lucky and tired. Didn't get to bed till 2 a.m. That's three in less than a week. The one I shot a few nights back, I didn't find for 2 days, so no pic. "pew". It was in brush so thick the buzzards struggled to get to it.

Ive mostly bow hunted since the early 80s. All Trad/Primitive since the late 80s. No one I know likes wounding anything but, you hunt long enough, it happens! I used to get all worked about it until I had a Game Biologist friend tell me the worse thing you can do, from an ecological viewpoint, is completely remove the animal from the ecosystem. If you wound it, cant find it, then its eventually is just returned to the ecosystem, nothing lives forever.Then everything gets to eat! Scavengers, birds, insects and eventually even the flora benefits, everything. Nothing goes to waste! Thats worth repeating, nothing ever goes to waste! Let the biologist set the quota and then go hunt! If you lose one once in a while, its baked into the cake! However , if youre losing a lot, get closer!
18" 1/8 twist, 5r rifling . Had this bbl a little over 4 yrs. Got it from sanders armory, so don't know who makes them.
It has been outstanding. My loads with AR Comp were running right around 2500 fps back during the past few summers.
Congrats on the hogs. Do you normally get pass-thrus with the SSTs? Im trying to decide how much I trust them since weve only shot 2 deer with them. I REALLY like the 100gr NPTs, but they are unobtanium. I have a few boxes of SSTs and they shook well in both of my Grendels, so Im curious how they do on deer shoulders, especially quartering shots
