is there a new Alexander Arms 18 " barrel in the works?

I think someone here mentioned a new redesigned improved 18 barrel was coming out soon....

Does anyone know anything about this?

The original barrel profiles date from the early days of the Grendel, and some of those were simply Beowulf profiles with Grendel chambering and bores.

Bill Alexander has been working on updating and reprofiling the barrels to make them more contemporary for the last several months, and we can expect to see the changes begin to show up sometime in the new year.

I wouldn't necessarily wait for the changes if there was a barrel I was interested in, and it was available, because, after all, just how much can you do to an AR 15 barrel?

We just received a new 18" SS barrel from AA and Mfg is listed as Hoplite

Should get some time on it within 2 weeks and will report back

I'd just order one from Bartlein, Krieger, or Mike Rock. Why not get the best they aren't expensive items really. $300 more or less.

I don't know about AR-15 barrels, but the Krieger .260 rem. barrel I just bought for my DPMS LR was a little over $600, and a 7 month wait.
