Forster Seater Die Question

Anybody using this seater die?

I just received my order for the Grendel "Forster Ultra Micrometer Seater Die" and was wondering if this will seat the longer projectiles (VLD, etc.) or is there another seating stem required?

I seat vld bullets with mine. 129 ablr's to be exact.

Dont use it with compressed loads it will damage the cup end of the stem.

As klem pointed out they do sale them. I caution you again, dont load compressed loads with the Forster micro seater, it will damage it and damage it very quickly. Just a handful of lightly compressed loads will cause damage to it and it will start to stick and hang up.

Second that - I wasn’t seating compressed loads but neck tension was too tight (it shouldn’t have been) and damaged the Forster micrometer seater.

How old are your Forster seating dies? This turned into a bit of an issue in another thread, but neither of the ones I've purchased in the last year have any cautions regarding compressed loads, nor is there anything about it on their site that I can find. Not saying you're wrong, but it seems weird they'd drop that info if it was still an issue, they're not exactly a fly by night outfit.

To answer the OP's question, you should be fine with VLD bullets and the Forster. Later.

Mine are a few years old, no problems so far.

I've been using one of these for a couple years with no problems at all. My loads with AR comp are slightly compressed.

Liked this seater so much, I ordered one for 223 rem about 4 months ago. It came out of the box with the seating stem flared so bad it wouldn't pass through the die body.

Called Forster and they sent me a new stem. All has been good since.
