So I built me a 6.5 grendel in ar15 platform. Decided i would try my hand at reloading my own ammo. Did a load work up using my new lyman press with lee precision dies. Found a round that shot decent groups of right around .802. Decided to stop there due to the shortage of reloading supplies. I changed the free float tube and barrel nut to customize the rifle a little more. Now my groups are not acceptable. Somewhere around 2 inch groups at a 100 yards. Any recommendations to try and get the groups back down to under 1 moa at a 100 yards?

Barrel nut torque will affect the barrel harmonics and hence the accuracy. From your comments it looks like that may be the only variable you changed.

Welcome to the forum Gtx70! Make sure the gas tube is in proper alignment and not in contact with the receiver/barrel nut. Also make sure the gas block is not contacting the hand guard and enough clearance during recoil.
Id also check the torque on the scope rings and mount to ensure they havent come loose.

When you replaced the barrel nut, did you unseat the barrel and then did you re-torque properly? ++ for both of the above.

I am from nebraska. Goals are to get it shoot under 1/2in groups at a 100 yards once supplies are more readily available. Mainly just using the rifle right now for some coyote hunting and used it for deer season. Just like to make sure when I squeeze that trigger I know it will be a well placed shot and make a humane kill with no follow up shot needed
