Hey, everyone. Not new to shooting, but new to gas guns. Never much liked them. But the kid likes them, and it's a good activity for bonding. So I've built my first (3) gas guns, and they're all Grendels. Warning: I'm a huge JP fanboy. Also, I have everything purchased, almost nothing yet in hand

Gun #1 - JP SCI Chassis. Wanted a semi-monolithic set, so I built my first on this platform. Put a 16" Custom Krieger, with a rifle length gas system, JP adjustable gas block, Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock, Trijicon VCOG 1-8x. I opted for a long handguard, and a Hera linear comp, as a place holder for the suppressor, when it's not in use.

Gun #2 - JP PSC-11 billet upper, JP CTR-02 billet lower, Proof Research 18" barrel, Seekins Precision Switchblock adjustable gas block. No stock or optic yet chosen. This will be mainly run suppressed. I think I'm gonna go with a more traditional optic on this. No electronics, just glass. Stock... no idea. I'll know it when it finds me.

Gun #3 - total break from previous convention. Cross Machine and Tool UPUR-3A dual charge billet upper, with a Young Manufacturing right side charging bolt carrier. Still trying to procure the barrel for this one. Going with a 12.5" length medium/heavy profile, with mid-length gas system. I think I'm going to use an adjustable gas key, in this one. Using a Maxim Defense CQB with the JP silent capture spring. Will most likely put an Aimpoint PRO on this one. Just a nice shorty for stuff that likes to run.

Also just purchase a Thunder Beast Arms Ultra 7 6.5, which of course, will be in jail until it's eligible for parole, god knows when.

We have been commissioned to cull feral hogs. The plan is for one of us to be shooting prone from under the truck, with the other shooting off of a tripod out of the bed of the truck. No sweeping one another, but lots of chances to pick up the runners.

Eventually, I plan to add a clip-on thermal. But until I get some hardware in hand, I'm just gonna chill out.

I've been in love with anything 6 or 6.5mm since I started shooting. Formerly, I built 1000 yard bolt guns. (mostly hunter bench rest class) Before I discovered the Grendel, I never looked twice at an AR. Literally, this is the only caliber that I'd ever want in a small AR platform. So, here's to new adventures.

Yes sir, I believe you are right. I opted for that can, because it will also sit nicely on my GA Precision Hospitaller in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Nice to make your acquaintance. Maybe we'll run into one another somewhere down the line. I regularly fish in Broward county.

Ironically, 6.5 Grendel and Creedmoor are two of the only rounds that I can reliably find. My son (for some odd reason) likes 300 Blackout. He is so screwed right now

I have everything else covered by Creedmoor.

And I am a half owner of a .300 blackout with my son. (UGH) But that covers me on the short end. 7.5".

I just left Seattle, where I've lived twice, over the last 4 years. SE WA is a whole lot more livable than where I was at. You down in wine country? If so, I envy your shooting options.

Yeah, my buddy has a private range 15 minutes from my house with steel at 100, 300, and 525. I just got a shootsteel 12x20" silhouette and plan to put it at 900-1000, definitely better than the west side

Yeah, not much point going to the city, anymore, I'm afraid. Where we were at, was filled with a cacophony of junkies, crazies, and their enablers (a vortex of low functioning discordants). Was going to relocate (my second home) to Issaquah, but they told us we can't come back to the office until at least June of next year. So we'll see what happens. But one thing that will NOT happen... another tour of duty in the city.
