I got my first deer with my Grendel this past weekend. If interested, its a 12.5 Odin works barrel and I used factory loaded 123gr SST ammo. I shot him about 50 yds away. He took off like a bolt of lightning but collapsed about 20yds. No exit wound but his heart looked like a piece of jello that got smashed!

Man that's great. Congrats on the first blood with the Grendel. What can do you have on that stick?

Nice buck, I bet he never heard a thing. LOL Typical heart shot reaction to take off like a race horse and run up to 100 yards sometimes not knowing that they are dead on their feet. It is untelling how many deer I have found for people that assumed they missed because the deer took off like that and they could not find any blood. When you put the pump out of action they don't bleed much if any especially if you don't get a mid to lower body exit wound.
