Loads for 24” Lilja Barrel

Does anyone else have this barrel? If so, what’s a good load for the 123 ELD?

Have used all across a range of Grendel’s, but am finding ARC to be quite flexible and very accurate-maybe not highest velocity, but temp stable, as well. Very good in 223/308, too.

I get just over 2600 fps from my CZ grendel with 27.6 grains of ar-comp.

Went a good bit higher but that's where my accuracy node was at.

Expect to find max in the 28.2 to 28.4 range, my coal is at 2.275.

Could depend on who cut the chamber, but ARComp has worked well in my 24" Lilja with 123 Scenar and 130 Berger Hybrid.

I shot the 123 ELDs. It looks like 28.4 of XBR is a node in my rifle.

AR Comp Was accurate at 27.7.

From a 100 yard zero, 27.7 of AR Comp gets to 1,000 yards with 13 Mils.

What altitude are you shooting at? I get around 2500 FPS at 1300’ with 27.4 ARC and a 123 Sierra in a 20” barrel and although BC is slightly better than ELD, your dope for 1k and 13 mils In 24” barrel would indicate velocity In lower 2400’s. Have you chrono’d your 27.7 load?

I've got an 18" 319 Lilja barrel.

27.4 grains of AR Comp in Hornady brass, CCI450 primer, 123gr Hornady ELD-M bullet set to 1.663 base-to-ogive (~2.245 COAL). This shoots extremely well. I started seeing pressure signs at 27.6 grains (velocity dip and primers starting to flatten). My working muzzle velocity looks to be 2420.

Your results would confirm my thought that adding 20fps for another 6” of barrel should put OP in the mid 2500’s, and if so-especially at 27.7gr ARC, his dope at 1k is off by about 1.5+ mils at 1000, or he has a very new barrel not fully broken in and at full speed, or he’s shooting at sea level, or just bad data from a ballistic program. Chrono should verify same.

Yeah I wanna say I was around mid 11's for mils at 1k myself at 5400 feet, but it's been a while. I just assumed he's at a much lower elevation and/or higher air density location. I've seen different barrels do different things too.

I’m in central NC. I’m way closer to sea level than you guys.
