Hello all. This may be a amature question, but I am looking into getting a couple of scopes for longer range shooting and hunting. One for the 6.5G and one for my 6.5CM. Of course the Grendel not too long range hunting, but will be having long range fun with them both. For example when the Vortex viper PST 3-15 says max elevation is 22 mills is that total or is that 44 total? I ask because I dont want to put a 20 moa rail on something that only has 22 mills adjustment then I cant even zero. I have been shooting a long time, just not long range and dialing. Its kinda confusing trying to figure this out.

Devil Dog,
A Viper PST has 75MOA of elevation; that means 37 up and 37down. With a 20MOA rail you will have approx 57 up and 17 down. You will have no problems zeroing and using the system for long range.

Thank you I appreciate the info. The one I was looking at was the PST in mills. I was just very confused. Kinda makes sense. I did see the MOA version had 75 moa. And mil version had 22 mil adjustment. That I think is what is confusing me.
