It really is tragic, Sportsman's Warehouse was easily my favorite even before the Cabela's acquisition. Given how Cabela's has gone down hill, I don't think it will take long for SW to be remade in the shabby image of Bass Pro.

Cabela's and Bass Pro are now my go to stores for ammo as they seem to be some of the few (Academy included) who haven't greatly inflated ammo prices through this. I buy most of my hornady ammo there.

Cabelas here is neutering the gun department. NOTHING new on the shelves. Same rude idiots behind the counters. My girl friend went into Cabelas last spring to drop $1200 on a S&W Model 41 Target and after having to work for 20 minutes to get someone's attention in an otherwise empty gun department, the guy behind the counter gave her the "These guns are usually for the more experienced shooters. Are you sure you want THAT gun, lil' Lady??" routine. If she hadn't wanted that pistol so badly he'd have needed surgery get it out.

I bought a 1k brick of Federal Large Rifle Match Primers for $34.99 at Sportsman's Warehouse on Monday. GM 210 effin M's. That's cheaper than what Johnny would sell them for in normal times. They also had CCI Large Rifle (non match) and CCI Magnum Large Pistol at the same price. One brick total per customer to spread the joy.
