Bell and Carlson Howa Mini "Sporter" rifle stock. Update

Is there any chance someone would be good enough to post a couple of pictures of a mini action rifle installed in this stock. I am in need of a decent stock for a project. I was going to go Boyds, but this looks pretty good.

thanks for the reply. ok, i can prep the surface and camo away. cool. thanks. and thanks about the heads up on the recoil pad. now i will have to think really hard about adding 1/4" to the LOP since it sounds like i'll need to do the spacer and get a new recoil pad to boot.

Well I installed a 22 LBC mini I built in this stock and it shot so-so. Showed a few fliers. When installing I noticed the bbl?d action has a fair amount of play side to side to where you had to keep bbl centered in channel while tightening the screws. I ended up full length bedding the action. After that 1st round out of clean bbl was 1? away from last zero, then the next three 53gr Vmax went into 1/4?. This was at only 60 yards out the shop window but it?ll shoot. Just ordered another one for a 20 Grendel I just finished.

Got the B&C mini-sporter stock. sans any bottom metal - 2lbs. right on the money as advertised. Factory stock sans bottom "metal" - 2 lbs, 2 oz. so the B&C sporter stock is lighter than factory. B&C mini sporter with DIP bottom metal goes 2lbs. 3.5 oz. factory stock with bottom "metal" goes 2lbs. 3.5 oz. so yes, the plastic bottom metal is lighter than the DIP real bottom metal. impressions: B&C is much more rigid stock. forend is much more slender on B&C. factory stock looks a bit more like a bench stock on the forend. the B&C stock looks to be about an inch shorter overall with both stocks forends pointed up with the buttstocks on the floor. if i hold the two stocks side by side so that the action screws are even, the B&C looks to be about 1/2" shorter on both ends. will go ahead and accraglass in the action and first 1" or so of barrel anyway. then once that is done i do need to add camo pattern to the stock. then put it all back together and head to the range. my mini is the 22" sporter barrel. with the barreled action dropped into the B&C stock the barrel does not touch the stock anywhere. my factory stock was the same way. but i could flex the factory stock enough to get the forend to touch the barrel. just trial fitting the DIP bottom metal and B&C mini sporter and putting it all together, i had no problem feeding a snap cap from the magazine into the chamber with the action screws snugged down with a screw driver handled Torx driver. once it's all glassed in and such, i'll put the 50 in-lb of torque to the action screws and check the feeding again with a snap cap. maybe by next weekend or so, depending upon weather i might get out to the range.

I took our M40 Heavy barrel model, recontoured the for end and changed the grip angle and size. The buttstock has the same general look/styling.
This stock accomodates the sporter barrel contour. I did however leave enough material so the consumer could open the sporter stock up to the heavy barrel.
The heavy barrel version fits but the barrel contacts all the way down the channel. Won't take much to float it.

I've been taking deer the last couple seasons with my AR Grendel, but I'm not as keen about a 10 y/o shooting a semi-auto.

I did think about that--the M40 contour, right? While the two stocks weigh the same I really like the slimmer Sporter profile (and I want the mini-action with the shorter/threaded barrel for suppressor use).

I put my 20" HB in the M40 stock. Drop in fit. Not a loose drop in though. Very snug fit. I did not have to do any fitting. I did have to hold things in place while torquing the action screws to keep the barrel centered in the channel. I've only had it out a couple of times but it seems to work well. Nice on the bench. Not too heavy to carry afield. Rifle is super accurate but I don't know how much of that is the stock.
