Putting together a Grendel bolt gun on a Bighorn action

What would it take to put together a mag-fed Grendel bolt gun using a Bighorn action such as the Origin or TL3?

Besides the action itself and a Grendel barrel spun for it, would it take anything besides...

• A Bighorn PPC bolt head customized for Grendel 6.5 ($125)
  
• AICS bottom metal and magazine
  
• An AICS mag conversion kit for 6.5 Grendel, like this one
  

Trying to think if it would take special cuts in the action to get it to feed correctly, etc. Already tried asking one gunsmith, had no idea. Planning to contact Bighorn to see if they know.

Considering building a Bighorn switch-barrel setup in a light chassis, with the action modified to use the WTO switch lug. Barrels in 6.5 CM, .308, and 6.5 G. Besides the 3 barrels, would require two bolt heads obviously. Usage would be target shooting and hunting.

Interesting read on the 6.5 Grendel cartridge guide on accurateshooter sight. If target shooting only; a longer barrel and longer throat to seat the 6.5 bullets way out there can maximize case volume and velocity.

The idea of seating Grendel bullets has been discussed a lot on this forum.

The resulting advice is to stay with the SAAMI throat and use the 6.5 CM if more velocity is wanted.

The OP is planning to have a 6.5 CM barrel too so is following that advice.

I have a 26" barrel and a long throat, and I still can't beat the Dashers at 600 or 1,000yds, either ballistically or in fact.

I would be very interested to watch Your build in detail, but in My world it is an expensive build. That's OK, we can do what we want with our money. IMO, a target rifle is not a good hunting rifle, and a hunting rifle is not a good target rifle. I have hunted from a stand with a 15# rifle, but I also have a 7# carbide for walking (real hunting ).

Shooting equipment bought new, retail, is not a good monetary investment. It's often sold for 50% or less of retail price. An example is, one can find $7,000 bench rest rifles used, for $2,500 dollars.

As far a My definition of target shooting...I can bang steel with a Stevens200 action and a 300 dollar perfit barrel, or I can go for small groups and/or high scores, which requires Bighorn actions and purpose spun high end barrels.

Again, I will be very interested to watch Your build, and hope this may help in Your decision making
