Just bought a Howa mini barreled Grendel action from Brownells. I also bought the Warne one piece picatinny 20MOA base. I went to install the base but it didn't quite fit. I was able to get either the front or the rear screws to go in but never the front and rear at the same time. Spoke with Brownells technical support and they gave me the specs for the hole spacing. It appears that the spacing is off a bit. I spoke with Legacy Sports today and they weren't aware of the Warne base. They only recommend using Rem. short action 2 piece bases. I had a pair in stock and was able to mount the scope but not real happy with this setup. Sorry for the long explanation. My question is: Has anybody experienced this with their Howa mini's?

I would call Warne bout the hole spacing since they sell one for that action.

Have to wonder if you got a base like I did once, right package wrong base was in the package.

I installed a Warne 20 MOA base a week ago on my Howa HB rifle, and it fit perfectly. They said it was in stock, but it took a while to get here, I am wondering if Warne had some issues with their spacing and then corrected it? Could it be you got a short action base instead of the mini base?

sounds like the holes in the base are a bit off. definitely contact Warne, they have great customer service!
