Is the answer a Mossberg MVP variant in 6.5 Grendel the answer to my AR mag Grendel bolt gun question?

GunGenie has them for under $550?

I've never owned a Mossberg rifle, should I ?

I sent a message to Mossberg inquiring if they would consider making the MVP in 6.5 Grendel. I read one retailer of 6.5 Grendel AR-15 barrels was getting the barrels from Mossberg. I thought the 6.5 Grendel would be a natural for the MVP especially since Mossberg was already turning out 6.5/264 barrels. Unfortunately Mossberg never responded to my request and a short time later Legacy announced the Howa in 6.5 Grendel.

I think part of the issue in converting a MVP to 6.5 Grendel would be a bolt head. I don't have any idea how difficult it is to do a barrel swap on a MVP.

If the bolt head issue were solved, how hard would it be to re-chamber and re-bore the 204 Ruger to 6.5? Or is it just better to start with a fresh 6.5 barrel? I don't know that much about how to do those things. Just thinking out loud.

I contacted Tony at Tromix and he pretty much dissuaded me based on the bolt issue.

I guess I'm just getting too lazy/frugal in my old age. I thought something lightweight that would utilize existing magazines would be the ticket. I should probably quit putzing around and either put a DBM on my .260 or build a LA 6.5-06 DBM. The latter has had my interest the longest and would give me the most versatility IMO?
