This guy is going to be VERY hard for the Congessional Republicans to short circuit. Many of them voted for him when he was put on the DC Court of Appeals. This is a chess move and the Senate and House Republicans haven't graduated from blocks to checkers yet! It will not surprise me if McConnell folds like a deck of cards.

contact your elected officials and let them know how you feel. i contacted mine yesterday. i'm worried about Senator Flake, he's considering meeting with garland! Flake had given the thumbs up to loretta lynch even to the dismay of others! he can't be trusted!!

we need to be all over Mitch McConnell, Grassley (judiciary comm), and your senators to hold off. The Dems have done this to republican presidents. It is the senates job to advise and consent and there is no timetable requirement. If there is one thing we don't need them to cave on it is this. I hope these spineless clowns hold their ground for once.

Scalia once said, "As long as judges tinker with the Constitution to 'do what the people want,' instead of what the document actually commands, politicians who pick and confirm new federal judges will naturally want only those who agree with them politically"

I wish I could remember the quote and I can't find it right now, but he mused that the nomination process of a Supreme Court Justice has become so political and consequential, that it shows the SCOTUS has become too powerful and beyond the scope of the court which is to interpret law.

Ted Cruz is right when he says the freedom to bear arms is one vote away on the supreme court. Nominee Garland would've voted for DC to keep the ban on handguns in DC in the Heller vs DC case, which is a case Ted Cruz was involved with in representing multiple states against DC.
