The Postman came early!

I was in the garage and heard a sliding door open on a truck. Went to check the door, and the Postman was delivering my 18" Liberty barrel. It wasn't supposed to be here until Friday. I checked the OD on the barrel extension and it was .9975 with a set of cheap calipers. Not a press fit, but it's not sloppy on the upper, no wobble that I can feel. I'll try it without loctite the first time and check the accuracy. I can loctite later if needed. I guess it's time to start putting this baby together. My first build so I'll be going SLOW. I'll re-read all the tips and hints that everyone's shared with me, and go from there. Questions to follow, I'm sure.

Go slow and double check your work, you'll be fine. A finishing carpenter always told me "measure twice and cut once", same apllies here. Enjoy.

Better than the framing carpenter I worked with out of high school. He would say, "I cut this thing twice, and it's still too short. Go get me that stud stretcher."

I wouldnt use loctite. Its not really gonna help other than just glue your barrel to it. If it fits in snug i wouldnt worry. If its limp noodle i would get a different receiver. I use a little loctite around the bottom and sides of the gas block when putting it on so that i dont get it anywhere near the gas port. As long as the barrel is snug and you torque your barrel nut your gonna be fine. Its easy as pie. Cant wait to see your build. All this is however just my opinion so do what makes you feel comfortable when it comes to things like this. Everybody is different.
