No holds barred lightweight build

I have all the parts for the build at this point minus the barrel, I haven't weighed everything yet but my guess will be around 6.0 to 6.5lbs so with Glass it should come in under 8lbs (Huskemaw 5-20) mid 7's the scope is 23oz.

I could definitely trim some more by not using the silent capture spring and the stock I picked, but I wanted something with a cheek piece and a mono pod.
And this is the nicest and also the lightest I could find.

I'm also trying to go very lightweight. Your build sounds about perfect.

I think it would be pretty easy to get it under the 6lb mark with a ACE stock, different buffer system, and a shorter pencil profile barrel. But then it wouldn't be capable of some of the long ranges I'm going to want it to shoot.

Check back pretty soon I'm gunna start putting the lower together when I get my vice block.

Yeah I'm thinking I need a 20" barrel. Mark at Precision is just too busy. I know he could get me one built but I need it by the end of July.

Yeah I have a few hundred rounds, handful of mags, but no gun. Buy what I can when I see it!

Ya I've only got one mag, but I have close to 40 Pmags lol. And like 80 factory rounds of ammo but I hand load so I'm snagging components for that as I find um. Just scored 1,000 cci benchrest and 1,000 regular cci primers the other day.

Well, got the lower complete.
Still waiting on the barrel from PROOF, AGAIN. Ya I had the barrel a few weeks ago but they sent the wrong thing...
Sh!t happens I guess.





As you can tell I went with a MAG lower, that thing is CRAZY light. Every oz counts right? pretty happy with it so far. Got the Jewell trigger in and tuned, just need the the long thing that points out the business end and we're a go...

I could have trimmed a little weight in a few places but wanted performance in those areas so it was a sacrifice.
I'm hoping to get out this weekend and get some trigger time behind it...

Grats on the completed boom stick!! You are going to love that stock. I had one on my .223. I would have one on my Grendel as well, but since I am an unemployed, broke student; gun goodies give way to reloading supplies.
