I just came across an expose on the ICE involvement in "The House of Death", where an ICE informant participated in at least a dozen cartel executions, with advance knowledge of his handlers. The AG & Assistant AG were both notified at the time, as they have the emails, and now the Asst AG is slated to be the next FBI Director.

The relevance? If you travel south of the US border, you're taking extreme risks that could very well result in your kidnapping and execution in the most brutal fashion. I've been to Mexico numerous times, but not anymore.

Lets say Hypothetically a platoon size group of armed Marine Veterans went south of the border, got our Marine, left no cartel members alive who found themselves in the path of the Marines and left a message Marines and their families are OFF LIMITS. I think that'd take care of the problem for some of us.

Don't get me wrong every American should be able to travel near and south of the border without worrying about these things. That'd take action by the administration that we all know will never happen.
