New York Butting Heads with SCOTUS

How's that? Sorry, I can't get it any shorter or it loses its pizazz.

Here ya go:
New York says that their court said that their new restrictions were ok for them to impose on the gun owners and that they didn't have to follow the SCOTUS ruling because their court said it was ok.

From what I read of the filing it is the same blah-blah-blah that any defense attorney would file, even in cases where his client was clearly in the wrong. It's a procedural filing b/c GOA appealed the NY-2d court of appeals who wouldn't back the preliminary injunction (Hochul knee-jerk reaction) of the Fed District Ct. Lots of Ny-hochul drivel, she arrogantly believes she is right and SCOTUS is wrong. Really doesn't mean anything about the merits of the case however. My $0.02.

The trouble with it is New York is saying that states rights overrule the SCOTUS ruling and the 2nd Amendment, which is to be expected from New York. There are a lot of other states waiting in line to do the same thing as New York if New York gets by with it. Sonia Sotomayor, unfortunately, is going to be the judge who oversees it. If Sotomayor folds then according to GOA:

If she (Sotomayor) denies the request, GOA can make its request to its choice of any of the other justices until a majority has decided.

Guess we will see how this unfolds as the hearing starts 1/9.
