I spotted this hog about 400 yds out in this huge open field with my night vision scope. The wind was a crosswind, so I circled around to make sure that I was completely downwind and got to within 50yds. I set up my triggerstick and set my AR15 Grendel up on it. As I picked him back up in my scope his head was down eating. Just as I was about to pull the trigger he lifted his head and looked right at me. There was no moon out and I would think he didn't see me but his movement spooked me just a bit as I squeezed the trigger. The 123gr A-Max hit him in the neck the first time and off he went. No reason to get flustered. One nice thing about the AR, there were 4 more rounds itchin to be launched. I was on an emotional high due to the 2 yotes that I had layed to rest just an hour earlier. So as the hog took off running broadside to my location I shot him in the ass, the third shot hit right behind the shoulder. All in all I unloaded my 5 round clip on him real fast and down he went, 50 yds from where he stood. After inspecting him I noticed that he was hit as follows. 2 neck, 1 ass, 1 shoulder and a lung shot. He was down and kickin for 15 seconds before he died. I didn't see any exit wounds. If I keep this up we are gonna have a buzzard problem.

My 2 boys and their friend harvested 8 pigs about 2 months ago out in west Texas. They said it is some of the best pork they had ever eaten...I'm looking forward to going...

Thanks... It is a nice yote for this area. I'm 5'10 and 175lbs., it's just big.. The Gen 3 is expensive but worth the extra $$$. I have a Gen 2 plus that I just don't use anymore because the Gen3 is so much nicer. I really am a beliver of the Night Optics D-760. You'll know you made the right choise when you own one of these. Buy one, you won't regret it.

Variable, I don't separate the bacon from the ribs.. Makes for very nice and meaty ribs..
