Nice accessory for AR uppers

I have been using Raven Concealment Systems; Top Stop for a few years and like them. I did a search and found nothing in our forums. I have no connection with them other than using their Top Stop. Have a look. Dave

mdram, Mine did too, for a while. When I backpacked or snow machined I would separate for travel and that is where they come in handy.

Joe Bob Outfitters has something like that, but not as hefty, called a "Bolt Saver" for $2.95

Klem, east, I use to wrap in a towel or a sock. I had to be careful un-wrapping but it worked. Now I buy the three pack econo Top Stops for under 10 bucks.

I hear you.

I've also used hiking socks that seem to accumulate in the sock drawer.

Brownells used to sell packets of five green socks without the ankle kink in them - cheap as chips. A quick look on their website and I can only see the more expensive loose fitting Gun Storage Sock with their logo and draw string.

Socks keep everything together and protects anything else stashed next to them. Protects the pack as well if you are slogging anywhere with a gun broken down in it. I remember seeing a house brick wear its way through someones pack on a long 'hike'. I realised then why the instructors were getting us to wrap our bricks in sandbags.

Klem, I hear you too. I would protect the firearm as needed; sock, gun sleeve, case. The thing I like about this item is the positive hold it does on the BCG so that inadvertent unlatching is rare. Dave.
