Looking forward to learning from y’all. Just beginning to acquire the necessary parts for my build. I am planning a 16” barreled unit based on the Gibbz G4. Receiver is back ordered, go figure. I’ve been reading here and elsewhere for some time. I think I have a good plan, but am open to suggestions. I understand that a franken build has inherent potential for issues. Anything in particular to avoid? Thanks for the chance to benefit from your experience.

Welcome, what part of Nebraska are you from? My late mother was from North eastern Nebraska.. My best advice is to put your money into your barrel, BCG, trigger, receiver extension "buffer tuber" and optics. Most receivers are made to spec and I have never had any preference to the roll mark, unless it was to choose features. Finding parts today can be hit and miss, so your selection maybe scarce. Thanks Montana. I live near Norfolk. I think I have a barrel available from Atheris. It comes with the BCG. Waiting on payday, lol. I’ve not looked into a trigger yet. It is the upper and lower that are hard to find. I am hoping for an AP lower. We’ll see.

Welcome to the forum Cofisher! I really like the LaRue MBT 2S triggers. I have several and for $87 they are gtg. LaRue has decent prices on E-Lander 6.5 Grendel mags but their web site does not list current inventory. I just order them and they charge and ship when in stock. They’ve only ever charged me once for shipping even though they sent each when they came in stock.

I like the 17 round E-Lander and 20 round CPD Duramag 6.5 Grendel mags.

Welcome to the clan, Cf, from the great nation of Texas! Tell us of your goals and the rest of your grocery list. Many of us have frankenbuilds that are quite accurate with no issues. Msy take some "adjusting" early on but once past that and a reasonable break-in, you could be off the hunt! The key is your barrel install into the upper receiver and then a good trigger or a tune-up of the existing trigger.
