It's good to see what 6.5 Grendel can do in gel tests. Here are some videos:

The Wolf and ELD were fired from 12"/12.5" barrels, but that's definitely a 16" barrel in the SST video.

Here is my video of a 95 VMAX hitting at ~2800 FPS. Just about turns the gel inside out. Note the gel weighs about 20lb and the ¼ metal plate weighs over 50 lb.

All were tested from a 12" barrel. Longer barrel lengths are only going to hit harder yet.

So I find this interesting. The shorter barrel 12" Grendel firing Hornady SST high a higher velocity and very different wound profile than the longer 12.5" Grendel firing the same ammo. The suggestion for self defense also varies for the same ammo.
12" barrel, 2437 fps, 1/2" neck and 9x5" 'huge' stretch cavity and >21" penetration, NOT suggested for home defense...apparently using two different types of ballistics gel.
12.5" barrel, 2287 fps, zero neck and 10x3.5" 'modest' stretch cavity and >16" penetration, in the 'ideal range' of penetration for home defense, also using 2 different types of gel.
The 12" barrel results seem off to me. The velocity seems more comparable to my 16" barrel. The 12.5" barrel velocity seems more appropriate.

Andrew from TCB did two 123gr SST tests, the first one from 08/17 was with a 16" or 18" barrel, but that's the one BFT mistakenly posted as a 12" barrel test.
The second test was from 10/18 and and was done with a 12" barrel, that's the video Happy2Shoot posted up.
So the first test seems more comparable to your 16" barrel velocities because it was done with a 16" barrel.
