It's not a Grendel, but it will have to do until l get my howa mini back. Rolled up on this group sunday morning while checking my traps. They were nice enough to hang around while i got my rifle out of the truck. Cz527 suppressor ready in 7.62x39 shooting hornady 123 SST steel case.

seems like there are many hog capable calibers. and the 7.62x39 is just an ancestor of the 6.5 Grendel of course. btw, where did your howa mini go? and what distance did you take these 2 at? <100yards? >100 yards? just curious. and about where'd you hit them? heart/lung area? CNS? did you do a necropsy? if so, any recovered SSTs? curious how they hold together, or not, from the 30 russian short. congrats, -tdbru

The larger sow was shot head on almost dead center between the eyes from approx 40yrds and the smaller one took a through shot in the lungs. (he ran about 10 yds).I took another shot at a smaller piglet and missed  . Ive shot several hogs this year with the 7.62 SST's and only recovered small copper fragments. I'm probably not qualified to do a necropsy, but i've been watching lots of Carpe sus videos. May give it a shot next time.

Good job on the hogs, my 5.4 Grendel CZ started as a 7.62X39 and became a Grendel before any boltaction grendels were available.
