The 458 Socom guys are working with these and not the best results but you can decide for yourself. These are designed as frangible/cave/tunnel clearing by the Israelis.

actually they effed up and sent us all undersized bullets (i was one of the people who got .451 sized bullets) they are CQB only rounds, they fizzle quick. they tear funky holes in cardboard but vaporize watermelons lol.
i couldnt get them to group inside an inch at 100, so i went the other end of the spectrum and am waiting on my 540gr piledrivers.

Why is that chilling? Ammo with non-reusable cases has been on the market for many years.

No lawsuits from the enemy- metal poisoning from the wounds, less tetinous shots. less worry from an MRI scan, of metal pieces being sucked from your body. Less over penetration.
Plastic, polymer pills are coming to reality for a many scenarios. Nasty stuff. Mostly only good for inside 100 yds. I'm ordering a few boxes next week. I can run a few mold castings faster than a lathe. Hmmmmmm.....you got another thing comin! I run 85 grn. pressed powdered tin, thin copper jacketed rounds thru my 9mm S & W shield handgun.,, it's my carry gun. Less is more , up close.

It's not always about the shock hit trauma , of a slightly heavier bullet. The lighter pills, copper, tin, plastic, , etc. Coincide with massive blood loss scenarios, the lighter pills can cause more lethal damage in a different way, in up close situations.
It's my choice in close in deer hunt operations, in our hunt spot. BOOOM!!!! Lungs explode to mist., sorry if that sounds gory. It's a fact from me over a few years with the Grendel rifle. How good is it? I bought a second Grr bbl. To make a second Grr upper. For fun, picture my voice as Sam Elliot on the Ram truck commercials. |
