Don't know if any one else has noticed ( haven't seen any mentions ) but the Wilson Combat ad inside the back cover of the new Ballisics Magazine lists our Grandel as one of the available chamberingsin their line of AR15's. Does not show on their web site but I have seen this in other magazine ads, as well.

I saw an article in one of the gun magazines stating Wilson Combat was offering 6.5 Grendel, so I came home and went to their site and didn't see it.

That would be great if they made ammo too.

Most don't know this but many years ago when I worked firearms retail, Wilson Combat was one of 2 AR15 manufacturers that took the bar to the next level. JP was the other. This was before 6.5 Grendel was on the market.

While JP was known for pushing the edge with competition AR15s, free float tubes, billet sets, adjustable gas, high end lightweight barrels, super efficient muzzle brakes, lightweight single stage triggers, and recoil systems, Wilson Combat took the high-end forged AR15 receiver set to a new level with precision-fit receiver sets, tuned triggers, fluted medium contour barrels, and nice coatings. It looked like the rifles were hand-fit with a lot of clean lines, excellent fit and finish, and attention to detail that crossed over from their approach to custom 1911s.

I based my build approaches a lot off of what I saw in the JP and Wilson AR15s of that era, particularly the receiver fit, coatings, barrel mating, barrel profiles, and just taking your time to pay attention to detail rather than slap parts together and hope for the best.

I had an opportunity to visit their factory in Berryville ( go past the boonies and then turn left for a couple more miles ) some years ago. Pretty incredible place. All of the people that I talked to that day were pretty class people. And, as you said, everything they build is dead-on perfect. They recently bought out Chip McCormick ( CMC ) and I have heard rumors that they may relocate to East Texas ( or maybe Texas will annex Arkansas? )

The Wilson brothers have built a small - perfect spot to do perfect work upon what they sell. I own a barrel made by them- in 7.62 x40 WT.-16" tube. Awesome.

It's the bigger bro to the 1/4" shorter 300 blk.

by case length. I would always recommend the larger case for most hunting . The .300 blk may be the best for suppressed in this smaller round.

AR platform harpoon guns!? One could hope. Wonder if they have CNCd frog giggin' sticks too? Now I've got something to check out.
