Howdy all.
I'm new here and have been thinking about a 6.5mm benchrest rifle that will be used for 100-200-300-yard shooting only. Has anyone built on on a Remington 700 or Savage 12 action? Thanks in advance,BS

You can use a micro-action, but I would stick with a 6mm PPC for that crowd. The Grendel is meant to retain energy for hunting out of an AR15 platform. There are more competitive cartridges for he benchrest world, even though the Grendel traces its lineage from the .220 Russian...then 6mm PPC. Have you already been competing in Benchrest matches, or are you wanting a bench queen basically?

Thanks for the replies. Since this rifle will only be used for benchrest shooting, I've been seriosly looking at a Savage in 6BR. Thanks again, BS

From the Bench, I would be shooting a true Bench caliber and the 6BR fits that!! Good luck!
