My Grendel has an optic with a large tube (Steiner 3-12x50 w/34mm tube). When mounted even with a cantilever mount, the charging handle is well covered and charging is not as easy as usual. This was even the case with the AXTS Raptor that I had installed on it.
Part of a deal I made not long ago included a BCM Mod 4 charging handle. While I didn't need another, I thought I could give it a try like everything else. Glad I did. The longer latch is out far enough to make charging much easier. A pull from the side and no issue whatsoever. I'm really liking it. Have to get a range trip in, but if function and dry fire tests hold true that is staying where it is.
Just some info that may help anyone running into a similar issue.
