Grendel stopping power....

getting back to "Grendel Stopping Power", and the point that to protect yourself the 5.56 can leave you feeling a little undergund in the face of a threat. I agree. The 5.56/223 is fine as long as you have lots of friends and your wearing kevlar and you can call in arty if it fails. But I would perfer somthing a little bigger. .25-.30 calibers for me.

Well as much as i hated to shoot that dog, i was very gratified of the instant and absolute power of the Grendel. I had not killed anything since my experience with the wild hogs where it took me most of a magazine of 223 to bring down the big one... so it was really nice to see that THIS GUN REALLY WORKED AS IT SHOULD....

I don't disagree, since I love the Grendel, although I'm not a fan of the poorly defined nonscientific term "stopping power", which used to imply something that really wasn't measurable. That was an excellent shot placement, and any gun capable of penetrating to the spine, which is why the dog dropped immediately, would get the same result. It's just that the Grendel penetrates well, and is easy to control, making it effective in multiple situations. Good discussion. My .450 SOCOM didn't do so badly with the wild hogs either, but that's not the same character firearm as a Grendel.
