Grendel sbr questions

After a long struggle with the 300 blkout, I have decided that for me it will be a subsonic toy, and supersonic stuff should be left for real cartridges.
That being said, I have been toying with the idea of a 12 inch Grendel, and I am ready to start putting it together. Figured this was place for advice. I am looking at the 11.5 Lilja barrel. I am assuming it's 1/8 or 1/7.5 twist, and will confirm before ordering. I will be using either my hybrid suppressor next year or my spec war can in the mean time. I am wondering if anyone can offer advice regarding a piston kit from Adam Arms? I have one and am really wanting to use it, but not if its going to adversely effect the functionality of the sbr combine with the suppressor. Any advice is welcome, btw, if you have a barrel and bolt that you r looking to sell let me know....thanks

Why a piston kit? I think piston guns are great but dont work that well generally in AR platforms. Why not try an adjustable gas block? PF has 12.5" barrels and you can get them with SLR adjustable low profile gas blocks that are very good gas blocks.

Welcome aboard first of all.

My feelings are similar with 300 Whisper. I think it's an excellent cartridge in the AR15 for close range carbine marksmanship, especially in confined spaces, indoors, or tight ranges where overpressure can be an issue for your head and ears.

Lilja uses 1/8 twist.

I would consider sticking to the standard Stoner internal expansion operating system of the AR15.

A suppressed 6.5 Grendel with the JP Silent Capture Spring is really one smooth-shooting set-up. You can configure the buffer and spring weights on the SCS for your system.

I use it with my Lilja 18" Wasp barrel set-up, and it is extremely smooth, with no need for a muzzle brake, even with a very lightweight rifle.

I run a 12.875 Lilja with an Adams Arms carbine piston system and it works as well or better than any of my DI guns. They all seem to have the a problem suppressed with dirty chambers and extraction after a few hundred rounds. If they were fighting rifles this might be a problem but for hunting it's not been a big deal.
